Gebetsliga Chasuble by Ditta A. Gammarelli for the Emperor Karl League of North America

The Emperor Karl League of North America have collaborated with the Roman atelier, Ditta A. Gammarelli, to offer 00 by way of their own store -- a selection of vestments made by the atelier, and as part of their announcement about this new collaboration, they also shared a beautiful violet and silver Gebetsliga chasuble that is worthy of some attention.

The chasuble in question is quite simple in many regards. It has the stemma of the Gebetsliga at the base of the orphrey, it employs simple silver galloons, but the real star and impact player for this particular design is Gammarelli's beautiful 'Grifoni' damask, seen here in its violet and silver variant.  The end result is a very crisp and clean design, but one not lacking in beauty and ornamenoality.

While we see it used here for a baroque cut, the fabric itself hearkens back to the controlled elegance of the Renaissance period, having that rare quality of presenting a large, strong design repeat, but one that doesn't overwhelm us in a negative sense; rather it somehow calms those seas and anchors the overall design.  The net result is, I think, visually striking.
